Czech-ing In: Lessons for North American Brewers from Czech Beer Culture

What North American brewers can learn from Czech beer culture — This talk will focus on the 1,000-year-old brewing and beer drinking tradition of the Czech lands, the home of the original Pilsner, the first Budweiser, and even the autochthonous Michelob. North American brewers and drinkers have started to catch on to the glories of Czech beer culture, from well-made low-alcohol beers to special pours like Mlíko and Šnyt, as well as a healthy tradition of social drinking at shared tables in a community atmosphere. This talk will illuminate those and other aspects of Czech beer culture and suggest ways that breweries in Alberta and across North America can incorporate Czech beer influences successfully.
